The story behind the name of our local mountain is truly impressive and shows how deeply rooted we have always been in nature. Early alpine dwellers observed a fascinating phenomenon: at exactly 12:00 noon, the sun stands directly above the mountain peak. Our “Hörndl,” as it’s affectionately known locally, was therefore regarded centuries ago as a reliable midday marker, indicating what’s known as “true noon” (solar noon). Since July 2024, we’ve come full circle: Our cable car runs on pure solar power. Thanks to the new photovoltaic system located directly on the Hörndl, we now use the sun’s energy as a clean power source for your nature experience.
